Caring for your tattoo
Once your tattoo is completed, we’ll bandage it up for you, but you’ll only want to wear the bandage for about an hour or so. After that, it’s time to let your artwork breathe!
The morning after your tattoo, shower as regular and clean your tattoo well! Pat dry and apply lotion immediately. Rub the lotion in until it’s all absorbed. It’s important to keep your ink lubricated, so apply lotion as often as necessary throughout the next 7 to 10 days.
Following these simple steps will keep your tattoo looking spectacular!
Water protection
New tattoos and water don’t play well together, so you’ll want to make sure you aren’t submerging your new ink (i.e.: swimming, hot tubs, baths, etc.) for 2-3 weeks. We encourage you to shower regularly, but try to keep soap and shampoo from sitting on your new ink too long.
Sun protection
The sun loves to kill tattoos, whether they are new or old. Ultraviolet rays work to fade and damage tattoos extremely quickly, so we recommend you use a sunblock of at least SPF30 every time you are going to spend an extended amount of time in the sun. Taking this precaution will keep your art brilliantly vibrant for years to come.
